Red Cross kicks off first-aid training camp for CRPF

The J&K Branch of Indian Red Cross Society on Thursday kicked off first-aid training camp for CRPF personnel at 28 Bn Headquarters, Bemina.
The programme was inaugurated by Rajesh Sharma, General Secretary, Indian Red Cross Society in presence of Dr Suneem Khan (MO) 28 Bn Hospital, Headquarters and other officials of CRPF and Red Cross.
Sharma, while interacting with CRPF Jawans, highlighted the selfless services extended by the force for maintaining peace and harmony throughout the country. He thanked CRPF Jawans for donating blood to the society from time to time and assured all possible support and coordination with CRPF in future as well.
The training is being imparted to the 1st batch of CRPF personnel, whose services shall be utilised during Amarnath Yatra, 2019. The training will be imparted to 150 CRPF Jawans in six batches before commencement of Amarnath Yatra 2019.
The objective of the training is to enhance life-saving skills among Jawans to act as First Medical Responders in times of need during Amarnath Yatra besides educating Yatris to become more resilient to accidents. The aim of training is to reduce disaster risks and build resilient first-aid force for CRPF in the Valley.
The training is being imparted under the supervision Dr Itinderpal Singh Bali, National level Master Trainer, Indian Red Cross Society with a team of Red Cross officials led by Imran Muzaffar, Programme Manager; Afroza Mehmood, First Aid Coordinator; Kaiser Ali, Public Relations Manager, IRCS-J&K; Mudasir Maqbool, Sahil Dar and Sheikh Daniyal, Trainers from IRCS-J&K State Branch.
