India’s highest sky cycling installed in Kullu's Gulaba

Adventure activity ‘sky cycling’, touted to be India’s highest, has been installed at Nature Park at Gulaba in Kullu district on Thursday. The activity will be open to tourists in about 15 days.

To promote eco-tourism in Kullu district, the forest department is focusing on constructing nature parks at key locations where tourists can spend leisurely moments under the lap of nature.

Talking to The Tribune, Divisional Forest officer, Kullu, Neeraj Chadda said the project was executed at a cost of Rs 13 lakh to provide tourist sports activity in premise of the Nature Park.
Chadha said, “The forest department and Atal Bihari Vajpayee Institute of Mountaineering and Allied Sports have jointly developed the sky cycling park at Gulaba area in Manali. The sky cycling path is at a height of 9000 ft from sea. It will be open to public after 15 days”

The local people will be trained to provideservice to the tourists, which will generate employment opportunities for the youth, he added.

The DFO stated that the park area was under construction and will be completed soon and handed over to public for tourist activity.

Kullu-Manali is a favoured tourist destination in Himachal Pradesh which attracts lakhs of people every year.
