Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) national vice-president and in-charge of J&K affairs Avinash Rai Khanna on Sunday said the block development council (BDC) polls are going to act as a gateway to development for all rural and far-flung areas of the state that have been neglected for 70 years by Abdullahs and Muftis, equally supported by Gandhis for the continuous loot of valuable resources of all three regions––Jammu, Kashmir, and Ladakh.

The BDC polls will be held in J&K on October 24. These will be the first elections to be held in the state since its special status was revoked under Article 370 on August 5. Khanna alleged that the way opposition parties are doing the politics, they are just harming the interest of J&K and the whole of India. He said the political persons have done more harm than good for the people of J&K.

He said the masses have outrightly rejected the doctrine of these divisive policies unleashed by Congress and its allies. He said, now, it is a proven fact that the so-called even the veteran politicians of these parties don’t enjoy support from any of the communities living in the region. This can be established from the fact that not even a single person outside these few families came in support of the detained politicians in view of their shrewd and cunning attitude.

Khanna said by boycotting the BDC polls, parties such as Congress, NC and PDP have again proved that they only meant to limit the powers to their own families. He said the BDC elections are going to be held after decades due to the sincere efforts of Prime Minister Narendra Modi so that people are benefited by the decentralization of all administrative power.
