Since August 5, 84-year-old Khalida Shah, her child, Muzaffar Shah, and her sibling, Mustafa Kamal have not moved out of their home on Srinagar's Maulana Azad street. They state they have been under house capture since August 5 – the day the Center stripped Jammu and Kashmir of uncommon status under Article 370 and bifurcated the state into two Union Territories. The Jammu and Kashmir Police have formally denied this.

Khalida Shah is the leader of the Jammu and Kashmir Awami National Conference. She is the oldest girl of National Conference originator Sheik Mohammad Abdullah. She is additionally sisters to Farooq Abdullah and auntie to Omar Abdullah, both previous boss pastors of Jammu and Kashmir, both National Conference pioneers and both under confinement since August 5.

Shah's home keeps on being watched by their own security officials, gave by the Jammu and Kashmir police. Everybody entering is investigated. Just those with earlier arrangements are permitted inside. A police official sent there affirmed that the family doesn't have consent to go out.
