Five NC and PDP leaders released, former CM Farooq, Omar and Mehbooba still under house arrest

Jammu and Kashmir administration on Monday released the five political leaders detained since August 5. These five leaders belong to NC and PDP, who were placed in preventive custody. Ava has been released. At present, former Chief Ministers Dr. Farooq Abdullah, Omar Abdullah and Mehbooba Mufti are still under house arrest.

The released leaders include NC's Ishfaq Jabbar and Ghulam Nabi Bhat and PDP's Bashir Mir, Zahoor Mir and Yasir Reshi. Reshi is considered a rebel leader of the PDP, who rebelled against then chief minister Mehbooba Mufti. NC has welcomed the release of the leaders. Divisional head Devendra Singh Rana said that other leaders should also be released as soon as possible.
