The weather patterns in Jammu and Kashmir became more intense on Thursday. The first snowfall of the season occurred in the late evening at Mata Vaishno Devi's building One and a half feet on the Trikuta mountain, half a foot in the Bhairav ​​valley, five inches on the building and three to four inches of snow was recorded on the evening.

The snowfall continued till late in the night and the journey continued smoothly. The snow blossomed the faces of the devotees who came from all over the country to see Goddess Vaishno Devi. There was also heavy snowfall in Patintop and Nathatop.

Snowfall continued in all the upper areas of the state including Gulmarg and rain continued in all the lower areas including Srinagar and Jammu. Due to this, the entire state is in the grip of severe cold. Meanwhile, the 270-km Jammu-Srinagar highway has been closed for traffic due to snowfall near Jawahar Tunnel.

Vehicles coming and going from Jammu to Srinagar have been stopped at safer places.
