The formation of a new political front in the valley is underway in the new union territory. Soon a Third Front may come into existence in the Valley against the National Conference and the People's Democratic Party. Interestingly, this party, which is trying to emerge as the third political option, consists of angry former MLAs of National Conference and PDP. On January 7, the leader will meet Lieutenant Governor Girish Chandra Murmu. It is believed that this initiative may intensify political activities in the valley.

Sources say that the name of the proposed new front has not been decided at present. But the group of former legislators of NC and PDP has moved ahead in this direction. The group is also looking for people in Kashmir as well as Jammu who can move forward with similar ideology. The names of former PDP MLAs Altaf Bukhari, Ghulam Hasan Mir, Dilawar Mir, Zafar Manhas are discussed in this group. At the same time, a Rajya Sabha MP of PDP is also discussed to join this group.

Ghulam Hasan Mir confirmed the meeting with the Lieutenant Governor of this group and said that top leaders of all parties are under house arrest in the Valley. For five months, political activities have been completely closed. This has created a situation of political vacuum.
