Skoda India on Wednesday released design sketches which point to how the company's India-bound compact SUV Vision IN will look like from the outside. The company had already released interior design sketches of the car in December of 2019.

With a clear emphasis on synthesis between a wide body and a purposeful look, the concept compact SUV gets a large grille with imposing ribs. The split head lights blend into this grille while a big front spoiler made of aluminium and large side air intakes seek to command attention.

Over at the rear, the sketches show the Vision IN's aesthetically contoured, three-dimensional rear lights. A horizontal light strip connects the reflectors. An aluminium diffuser is integrated into the rear apron underneath.

The Skoda VISION IN is the first vehicle to be based on the new localised sub-compact platform of the MQB A0 IN modular transverse matrix, which also forms the inter-brand basis of various Skoda and Volkswagen models.

The production of the car is likely to begin towards the end of 2020 and when launched, it would take on other compact SUVs in India like Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza, Hyundai Venue, Tata Nexon and Ford Ecosport.
