The National Conference will not contest elections until Jammu and Kashmir's special state status is restored. The party's Lok Sabha MP Mohammad Akbar Lone said this at a party meeting held in Srinagar on Wednesday.
The NC MP said that his party would not take part in any election until the situation was restored in the state before August 5. On the petition filed to restore the status of special state of Jammu and Kashmir, Lone said that we are confident that the decision will come in our favor.

Regarding the new political group emerging under the leadership of PDP leader Saeed Altaf Bukhari, he said that such people have been used from time to time by the Delhi government since 1953 to suppress the aspirations of the people.

This group has the highest number of people who were involved in the fall of Farooq Abdullah's government in the year 1984 to form a new government. Said, everyone knows how long that government lasted. Such people are experimented and shown the way out.

The BJP can succeed in spreading its agenda to the people of Kashmir, as the people of the new faction do not have the understanding of the people. People will not accept this new faction. The domicile law being promoted for Jammu and Kashmir has no significance. We will not even look at such a law. We will follow the agenda of NC founder Sheikh Mohammed Abdullah.

The National Conference distanced itself from the remarks made by party MP Mohammad Akbar Lone about the party's participation in future elections and said he made the remarks on his personal basis. The party spokesperson said that any decision regarding the future will be taken only by the party leadership, who is currently in custody.
