A food delivery service has been launched by the Delhi International Airport Ltd (DIAL) that enables air passengers to get their food hand-delivered at the boarding gates. Named as 'Food Genie', this service can be availed at Delhi International Airport’s Terminal 3 only. Passengers can buy their meals from interactive self-ordering kiosks at the food courts present at T3’s domestic and international departure zones.

Apparently, not all passengers prefer buying in-flight meals for various reasons. While some choose to eat at the airport kiosks, others may prefer bringing their own meal from home. Often, passengers are in a hurry to catch the flight and end up staying hungry throughout the flight or are dependent on in-flight meals. Therefore, the food delivery service has been launched to make it easy for passengers to order food before boarding the flight.

Reportedly, the food parcel will be delivered by a staff member using electric scooters. The staff member would take about 20 minutes to reach, which is probably the same time taken by a passenger to reach from the check-in desk to the boarding gate. This service is only available at Terminal 3 at the IGI Airport for now.
