Union Minister of State for Home Affairs G. Kishan Reddy said that police has an important role in maintaining peace and law and order in Jammu and Kashmir and crushing terrorism.

The sacrifice made by the Jammu and Kashmir Police for the unity, the integrity of the country is hardly the same as given by any police organization in any other corner of the world. He was addressing the jawans and officers there on Thursday during a visit to the Police Training School at Manigam, Ganderbal. During this, he also reviewed the facilities available in the school.

Earlier, he had a meeting with Lt Governor Advisor Rajiv Rai Bhatnagar, Home Department Principal Secretary Shaleen Kabra, Director General of Police Dilbag Singh and other concerned police officers to discuss issues related to security and law and order.

The Union Minister of State for Home, while praising the police for overcoming terrorist violence in Jammu and Kashmir and maintaining law and order, said that Jammu and Kashmir Police is one of the reputed and professional police organizations of the country. The police is not only active in maintaining law and order but also stands against other anti-national elements and terrorist organizations from other security agencies. He assured the police officers and jawans that all their rational issues will be resolved as soon as possible.

Earlier, State Director General of Police Dilbag Singh, in his welcome address, thanked the Union Home Ministry from time to time for taking measures for the welfare of officers of Jammu and Kashmir Police.
