The Chief Guest of Republic Day and President of Brazil, Jair Messius Bolsonaro, met Foreign Minister S Jaishankar on Saturday. Bilateral issues were discussed between the two. Bolsonaro will reach Rashtrapati Bhavan where he will be ceremonially welcomed after meeting the Foreign Minister.

After that , he will also meet President Ramnath Kovind and Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Brazilian President Jair Bolsonaro arrived in India on Friday on his 4 day visit. He will take part in the Republic Day celebrations as the chief guest. This is Bolsonaro's first visit to India after taking over as Brazilian President.

He has arrived in Delhi with eight ministers, top officials and a large business delegation. During this time 15 agreements between India and Brazil will be signed. For the third time, the President of Brazil
has also become the chief guest on the Republic Day in 1996 and 2004. At the same time, in 2016, Brazilian President Michel Temer came to India to attend the 8th BRICS (Brazil, Russia, India, China, and South Africa) summit held in Goa.

Bolsonaro's visit to India is expected to heat up relations between the two countries.
