For the study, the researchers surveyed around 33, 000 Dutch women between the age of 15 and 45 to estimate the exact amount of productivity lost throughout the year. They asked the women to take an online survey, which comprised of questions related to the issues related to their monthly cycle. From the data received, it was concluded that women completely called off school or work due to period for about 1.3 days every year. However, they lost an average of 8.9 days of productivity in a year when they went to their work or school while dealing with the period problems.
