Jammu will soon get the gift of Ropeway (cable car), Pirko-Mahamaya and Bahu-Mahamaya have been successful trials. For this, Lieutenant Governor Girish Chandra Murmu has issued the necessary guidelines. Many Union ministers can attend the inauguration. Shamim Ahmad Wani, managing director of the Jammu ropeway of the corporation, said that the ropeway work has been completed. This will entice tourists.

A file has been sent to the Lieutenant Governor Administration through the advisor for the inauguration of the ropeway, which may announce the opening date soon. Recently the Lieutenant Governor visited Ropeway and insisted on dedicating it to the people soon. The successful trials of Pirkho-Mahamaya and Bahu-Mahamaya ropeway to be built at a cost of Rs 75 crores have been done. The fare for Bahu to Mahamaya is fixed at Rs 200 on one side and Rs 300 on both sides (return).

Adventure, emphasis on heritage tourism
Similarly in Pirkho-Mahamaya, there will be a fare of 300 rupees on one side and 500 rupees on both sides (return). The Bahu-Mahamaya ropeway is on two towers and has eight cabins, while the Pirkho-Mahamaya ropeway is on seven towers and has 14 cabins. Each cabin can seat six people at a time.

Tourism Director Deepika Sharma said that emphasis has been laid on making tourism-related projects in the Jammu division soon. The division has immense possibilities of adventure and heritage tourism. It is being worked on. All reasonable efforts are being made to woo tourists.
