Three NC leaders released from MLA Hostel Srinagar

Three National Conference (NC) leaders Abdul Majeed Larami, Ghulam Nabi Bhat and Dr. Mohammed Shafi detained after the removal of Article 370 in Jammu and Kashmir, have been released from the MLA Hostel in Srinagar on Sunday. Another leader Mohammad Yusuf Bhat has also been released.

Leaders are House Arrest since August 5
On 5 August 2019, amidst the situation arising out of the implementation of the Jammu and Kashmir Reorganization Act, the administration, as a precautionary measure, had detained all prominent political leaders and workers, including separatists, and kept them in the Centaur Hotel. These include three former Chief Ministers Dr. Farooq Abdullah, Omar Abdullah, and Mehbooba Mufti, who have been kept separately. Farooq is currently under house arrest under the PSA.

It is worth noting that till now many leaders of NC and PDP have been released in Jammu and Kashmir. Last month, the administration released five leaders. These leaders were arrested on August 5. 21 leaders are still detained in Upazel MLA hostels. At present, besides the three former Chief Ministers Dr. Farooq Abdullah, Omar Abdullah, Mehbooba Mufti, Sajjad Gani Lone, Chairman of the People's Conference and Shah Faisal of the Jammu and Kashmir People's Movement will remain closed.

The released leaders include former National Conference MLA from Pahalgam, Altaf Ahmad Kalu, the state head of the National Conference's youth unit, former Srinagar Municipal Corporation Mayor Salman Sagar, Shaukat Ganai, former Peoples Democratic Party MLA Nizamdeen Butt, and Mukhtar Baba .

Omar and Mehbooba can be moved near home
Officials confirmed the transfer of Omar Abdullah to the government guest house M-4 near Hari Niwas near his official residence in Gupakar, stating that former Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti had been detained in his house. Is being considered. The final decision will be based on the clearance of the security agencies concerned.
