Big Street event ‘Jammu Ka Green Carnival’ Season 5 on Sunday

92.7 Big FM in collaboration with Skyview Patnitop by Empyrean organized Big Street event ‘Big Street-Jammu ka Green Carnival’ Season 5 on Sunday. The event was held to promote the idea of adopting healthy lifestyle besides taking pledge to grow green.

Some unique and interesting activities related to health, fitness and environmental awareness were arranged for people on Palace Road Kachi Chawni, which was closed for vehicular traffic. Watching children, adults, senior officers and bureaucracy cycling and walking on the road which otherwise is mostly jammed with vehicles was a treat for spectators. The participants started their sunny Sunday morning with Yoga by Art of Living followed by Zumba and Nirvana Yoga by Shape-n-Smile.

Sanjeev Verma, Divisional Commissioner Jammu, was the Chief Guest on the occasion. A blood donation camp and health check-up booth by Narayana Hospital, free salon services booth by India’s No 1 Spa and Salon – Naturals were also set up on the occasion. Children did skating and cycling on the road along with the professional group – Jammu Cyclists Group. Dogri play ‘Dheeth’ by Rangyug and Saptak- Classical Fusion Band stole the show with their spectacular performances.

Strings band and Ace Singer Sonali Dogra struck a melodious chord with their singing. Vrinda Gujral, Sabse Bada Kalakar fame also performed on the occasion. It was a different scene altogether when children from different schools took over the stage and set it on fire with their performances of music, dance, martial arts, environment awareness skits and a lot more. They had also come with beautiful and unique placards/slogans on the environment.

The Divisional Commissioner and Kapil Sharma, Chief Operating Officer, JKSRLM Umeed along with 92.7 Big FM team felicitated the winners and other supporters of Big Street including Ali from Skyview Patnitop, Kashish from SMVD Narayana Hospital, Sourabh from Motion Institute, Abrar from Fruitful Juices, Jammu Cyclist Group, Photography Partner, Irfan Choudhary (9 Planets Entertainment), Digital Partner Jammu Links News and Print Partner STATE TIMES and Best Buy Computers (Gift Partner). SSB 7 Bn Commandant and Jawans were especially honored for donating blood in large numbers.

The Divisional Commissioner, in his address, said, “We can have a have great and prosperous world only if we take care of our environment and paint this planet green.”

Others present on the occasion included Gitish Chopra, Cluster Head – PB/HP/HR/J&K), Vikrant Sharma, Area Manager; Qadeer Ahmed Khan, Cluster Head Programming; Siddharth Mahajan, Station Head; Sahil Choudhary, Station Producer, and Mukhtiyar Ahmad. Big FMs RJs were as usual at their best with entertaining audiences and giving them prizes worth thousands. RJ Juhie, RJ Rahul and RJ Roohi Singh kept the audience glued to the event for more than five hours.
