Rishabh Pant, the wicketkeeper batsman of the Indian cricket team, is continuously sitting out of the team. In the T20 and ODI series in place of Pant, KL Rahul was given an opportunity by Indian captain Virat Kohli in the team as a wicketkeeper. Before India have to play a two-Test series against New Zealand, Team India landed in the practice match started on Friday. Pant got a chance but he was a flop in batting.

Indian cricket team will try to return to the Test after a crushing defeat in the ODI series. Team India has been playing a practice match since Friday to prepare for the first Test match starting on 21 February. The Indian opener flopped on the first day of the three-day match against the New Zealand XI team, while in the middle order, Hamuma Vihari hit a century and Cheteshwar Pujara scored 92 runs.

Rishabh Pant again plopped

On 14 January Rishabh Pant played ODI against Australia. Since then, he has been out of the playing eleven. Pant got a chance to bat in a warm-up match against New Zealand XI. For the whole 1 month, he came out to bat on behalf of the Indian team. Here he proved to be a failure and returned after scoring just 7 runs after playing 10 balls.

Out of playing XI in T20 and ODIs

Rishabh Pant has found it difficult for the Indian team to return to the limited over format. KL Rahul is batting brilliantly and the captain has no complaints even in wicketkeeping. Instead of Pant, Rahul Kohli has made up his mind to play batting as a wicketkeeper. In the five-match, T20 and three ODI, Rahul played this role in place of Pant.
