Indian cricket team has made a great comeback in the three-day practice match being played against New Zealand XI. After being bowled out for 263 on the first day, the hosts bowled out for 235 on the second day to take a 28-run lead. Mohammed Shami took the maximum of three wickets for India.

Against New Zealand XI, the Indian team gained a 28-run lead on the back of a quartet of fast bowlers. Mohammad Shami, Jaspreet Bumrah, Umesh Yadav and Navdeep Saini took 9 wickets together. Spinner R Ashwin got one wicket. On the second day, the team of New Zealand XI was reduced to 235 runs in front of India's superb bowling.

Indian fast bowlers jerk 9 wickets

India's fast bowlers performed well in the practice match against New Zealand XI. The quartet of Shami, Bumrah, Umesh, and Saini together took a total of 9 wickets. The experienced fast bowler of the team Mohammad Shami took the maximum 3 wickets while Bumrah, Yadav, and Saini took two wickets each.
Henry Cooper scored the highest 40 runs for New Zealand XI while captain Darrell Mitchell scored 32 runs.

India's first innings

The Indian team was able to score only 263 runs in the first innings. Hanuma Vihari had scored 101 runs while Cheteshwar Pujara scored 93 runs. Indian team opener Prithvi Shaw returned without opening an account, while Mayank Agarwal was able to score only 1 run. Shubman Gill, who was the opening contender in the Test series, returned after being dismissed for zero.
