The only former MLA from Poonch, Shah Mohammad Tantray has also left the party. PDP has suffered another setback. He has resigned from the primary membership of the party. There is a discussion in political circles that they can go with the Third Front.
He attended the meeting held in Jammu recently. Talking to reporters after resigning from the primary membership of the party, he said that he is no longer with the PDP. He did not disclose the strategy ahead but said that he would decide the next steps after consulting his well-wishers and colleagues. It has been said that for the last 50 years, the People's Democratic Party was making claims to get the rights of Jammu and Kashmir and its people. But after five August 2019, it has ceased to exist. In such a situation, he is leaving the party to maintain the caravan of the general public.
As the PDP-BJP government collapsed, successive legislators began to break away from the party. More than half a dozen former ministers and legislators broke ties with the party, including former ministers Imran Raza Ansari, Altaf Bukhari.
The formation of the Third Front under the leadership of Altaf Bukhari began. After meeting with LG Murmu, the team is now trying to meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah.
Tantray also attended a meeting of the same front recently. Since then, it was speculated that he too would soon quit the PDP.
