Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal met Union Home Minister Amit Shah at the Union Home Minister’s residence on Wednesday afternoon -- first meeting between the two leaders after the assembly poll in Delhi.

Soon after his meeting with Amit Shah, Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal said the two decided to work together for the development of Delhi. "Met Hon’ble Home Minister Sh Amit Shah ji. Had a very good and fruitful meeting. Discussed several issues related to Delhi. Both of us agreed that we will work together for the development of Delhi," Arvind Kejriwal tweeted on Wednesday.

When asked if he discussed the Shaheen Bagh issue with Union Home Minister Amit Shah, Arvind Kejriwal said the matter was not discussed.

Arvind Kejriwal took charge as the Chief Minister of Delhi for the third time on Monday following AAP winning 62 out of 70 seats in the Delhi Assembly. The BJP bagged eight seats and the Congress failed to open its account -- just like the 2015 edition. Amit Shah had led the BJP’s aggressive campaign offensive against Arvind Kejriwal in the Delhi Assembly poll

In his address after taking the oath on February 16, Arvind Kejriwal sought Prime Minister Narendra Modi's "blessings" and said he wanted to work in coordination with the Centre for smooth governance of the national capital.

Kejriwal had said as the elections are over, the politics is also over and he has "forgiven" his opponents for the remarks they made during the poll campaign.

Kejriwal along with his cabinet colleagues Manish Sisodia, Satyendar Jain, Gopal Rai, Imran Hussain, Rajendra Pal Gautam and Kailash Gahlot were administered the oath of office and secrecy by Lieutenant Governor Anil Baijal at the historic Ramlila Maidan that was a sea of tricolour with a large number of people and party supporters turning up for the event.
