Weather patterns changed in Jammu and Kashmir on Wednesday. Most of the districts of the state were cloudy but due to clear weather, the day temperature is running 3-5 degrees above normal. The opening of the Srinagar-Leh National Highway has not been successful.

The Mughal road connecting District Rajouri and Poonch to Shopian (Kashmir) is also closed. According to the meteorological center Srinagar, there may be rain and snowfall in parts of Jammu and Kashmir on Thursday. Most parts of Kashmir were cloudy on Wednesday. In the summer capital, Srinagar, the day temperature rose by 2.0 degrees above normal to 11.9 degrees Celsius. Jammu division was also cloudy.

The day temperature in Jammu was 0.9 degrees above normal at 23.1 degrees Celsius and the minimum temperature was 11.7 degrees Celsius. Banihal was the coldest in the division with a minimum temperature of 2.2 degrees Celsius. Batot recorded a minimum temperature of 6.0, Bhaderwah 3.2 and Katra 11.3 degrees Celsius. Jammu-Srinagar National Highway may be affected due to inclement weather on Thursday.
