For the facilitation of the pilgrims, Shri Mata Vaishno Devi (SMVD) Shrine Board started a free Prasad Sewa from Friday at Sanjichhat located on the traditional track leading to the Holy Cave Shrine of Shri Mata Vaishno Devi. This facility at Sanjichhat will be available to the pilgrims round the clock throughout the year.

The Prasad Sewa was inaugurated by Ramesh Kumar, Chief Executive Officer, Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board; amidst chanting of Vedic Mantras. A Pooja was held at the site before the commencement of the Prasad Sewa. The pilgrims present on the occasion lauded the Shrine Board for starting this facility. Giving details, Ramesh Kumar added that the Prasad Sewa will work round the clock and the pilgrims will be served Halwa, black Channa, and tea in a well-established infrastructure dedicated to Prasad Sewa. A covered waiting area has also been developed on the rooftop of the Prasad Sewa facility for the convenience of the pilgrims, particularly during rainy season and inclement weather.

This Prasad Sewa was started by the Shrine Board in its continuous endeavours for providing free Prasad facility for catering maximum number of pilgrims.

It is pertinent to mention that the Shrine Board is already running a free community kitchen at Tarakote since May last year on the picturesque Tarakote Marg between Katra and Adhkuwari.

The free community kitchen at Tarakote also works round the clock and the pilgrims are served meals. Those willing to donate for the facility can also do so through the donation boxes kept at the site. The pilgrims can also donate online through digital gateways, the details of which have been uploaded on the website of the Shrine Board for the convenience of the pilgrims.

Vivek Verma, Additional CEO; Hemkant Prasher, Chief Accounts Officer; Dr. Jagdish Mehra and Deepak Dubey, Dy. CEOs; Manu Hansa, Assistant CEO; other officers and employees of the Board besides a large number of pilgrims were present on the occasion.
