Amid the rising fears of coronavirus spread, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday said he would not be attending the Holi Milan program. PM Narendra Modi's decision comes as experts have advised against mass gatherings, to avoid the spread of coronavirus.

"Experts across the world have advised reducing mass gatherings to avoid the spread of COVID-19 Novel Coronavirus. Hence, this year I have decided not to participate in any Holi Milan program," Prime Minister Narendra Modi tweeted.

Three new cases of coronavirus have been reported in India this week after three patients from Kerala were cured last month. The total confirmed cases of coronavirus now stand at 6 in India.

Several schools across Delhi and Noida have been shut amid coronavirus scare. The development came after a man from Delhi had tested positive for coronavirus upon his arrival from Italy. His wife was also found to positive in Jaipur.
