Former Deputy Chief Minister and senior BJP leader, Kavinder Gupta extensively toured Ward 43 falling under Gandhi Nagar Assembly segment and took stock of ongoing development works being executed in the area. After dedicating the garbage lifting auto to the people of the Ward, Gupta inspected the works pertaining to maintenance and up-gradation of roads, lanes and drains executed by PWD(R&B), JMC and other agencies. Gupta was accompanied by Surjeet Singh Choudhary, Councillor Ward 43 and Councillor Jai Deep Sharma.

Addressing the gathering on the occasion, Gupta said, BJP is a cadre-based party in which workers work their way up and in which a worker will rise to the highest level depending on his or her competence, contribution and calibre. Gupta said being a cadre-based party, BJP has kept its members engaged in activities to increase its political footprint.

Through the activities and initiatives, the Bharatiya Janata Party is undergoing a fundamental transformation under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Amit Shah and party president J.P Nadda. It is morphing from a cadre-driven to a mass-based political party. It is because of the leadership of Prime Minister, Narendra Modi that people have once again started to feel that politics is not such a bad word. Prime Minister has succeeded to restore respect to politics which was eroded because of the previous ruling parties were involved in scams during their tenures," said Gupta. Gupta quoted by saying that "Modi led NDA Government has brought drastic improvement in infrastructure development in Jammu and Kashmir".

He said that projects amounting to several crores have been sanctioned by the Government for upgrading and creating new infrastructure for both of the regions of the Union Territory. In the last six years, the people of the erstwhile State have witnessed the drastic improvement in all sectors in the state
