Several non-government organisations have joined hands with government agencies to provide relief to the poor and needy amid the coronavirus outbreak and the nationwide curfew.

According to a statement by ‘Mere Apne Foundation’, its volunteers today distributed lentils, rice, salt, spices in East Delhi’s Jagatpuri and Geeta Colony area.

‘In this hour of crisis, the work of the government, as well as NGOs, has become very challenging. There is a serious crisis in the country and every capable section of society should come forward to support the needy, “ the foundation said

Several organisations, including Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh, Seva Bharti YUVA (Youth United for Vision and Action) are providing readymade food packets, ration, essential medicines, medical counselling and other facilities at different locations in Delhi.

These organisations have decided to continue with these services till the lockdown, said the statement.
