Pulwama Administration launches Ann- Daan initiative to invite donations in kind for labourers

District Administration Pulwama today launched an initiative "Ann Daan" to invite the donations in kind from NGOs, Voluntary Organizations and individuals for helping the poor, destitute and migrant labours amid Covid 19.
The aim of the initiative is to invite donations to enhance the efforts of government for reaching out to the destitute and needy people in the district.
People who are willing to donate can register them themselves at https://pulwama.gov.in/donations_in_kind/ for donations in kind only .
Such Organizations and individuals have been asked to choose locations as per their convenience, to donate food, dry items or other articles for the needy.
Senior officials from the Administration said that 4354 labourers are present in the Pulwama district without any work and have been confined to various interim Labour Sarais in Government owned buildings.

In view of this the district administration has called for NGOs, local philanthropists or Masjid Committees, volunteers to come forward and help these people.
The officials further said that the ration items including atta, rice, vegetables, oil, pulses, spices, sugar, tea, milk (Dry/Fresh), bread, utensils will be given the preference.
Moreover Toiletries like Bathing soaps, toothpastes, toothbrushes, shampoo sachets, diapers for children, buckets/mugs can also be stocked for the utility.
The District Magistrate (DM), Pulwama said that “In view of Coronavirus pandemic and its outbreak in various areas of the country, particularly in valley, it has become an imperative to involve voluntary organizations, NGOs and individual services during the situation ".
He further said that Peer Zameer Ahmad, Assistant Commissioner Labour, has been already designated as Nodal officer for greviances redressal , pertaining to the issues of organised and unorganized labours in the district.
