As the world gradually relaxes lockdown rules in the wake of falling Covid-19 cases, India is also aiming to gradually ease restrictions from May 3 when the lockdown ends. Prime Minister Narendra Modi is proactively discussing the exit strategy with states to help minimise risks following the lifting of lockdown.

However, not everything may open up at once after the lockdown ends as PM Modi asked state chief ministers to relax norms based on strict assessment of the on-ground situation.

On Monday, India also cancelled orders for Chinese Covid-19 rapid testing kits due to faulty results. The government has also informed that the cancellation of orders for fresh kits will have no financial bearing on the government.
