Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC) signed an agreement for supply of petro products through fleet card facility to JMC vehicles with Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited and Indian Oil Corporation Limited through its designated dealers.
The trial run of the same was conducted here today in presence of Mayor, Jammu Municipal Corporation, Chander Mohan Gupta and Commissioner, Jammu Municipal Corporation, Avny Lavasa. Mayor while highlighting the benefit of the fleet card services said that the JMC will be able to rationalize the fuel utilization to JMC vehicles and also will earn a discount of 1.75% on every refuel from the oil companies/dealers.
"The insurance cover to drivers and cleaners up to Rs 6 lakh and Rs 4 lakh respectively will also be provided by the oil companies/dealers and in case of breakdown or accident of all municipal vehicles, the necessary road assistance will also be provided by the oil companies/dealers," Mayor added.
The Commissioner, JMC stated that the Petro Card facility will help to save oil and added that every transaction in this regard will be online which will help to reduce paper work and to save time too. She further said that there will be a transparent system in refuelling the JMC vehicles.
