The leaders of the Shiv Sena Bala Saheb Thackeray Jammu and Kashmir paid florial tributes to
the freedom fighter Vir Shri Vinayak Damodar Savarkar on his birth anniversary today. In a tribute
function held at the party office, the party president Manish Sahni paid his respectful salutes and tribute
to Veer Shri Vinayak Damodar Savarkar and said that Savarkar's sacrifice for the freedom of the country
can never be forgotten. His fight for independence has always been a victim of politics. Describing Veer
Savarkar as the pride of the nation, Sahni said that like Nehru and Gandhi, Savarkar too sacrificed for
freedom. He said that like other freedom fighters of the country, Savarkar's biography should also be
taught in schools , so that today's generation knows how great Savarkar was. Sahni also reiterated the
demand to award Bharat Ratna to Veer Savarkar. On this occasion Ashwini Gupta, Raj Singh, Sophia
Sagoo, Kashika were present.
