National Students Union Of India (NSUI) has sought mass promotion of all students of J&K.
The demand was raised at a press meet called by NSUI leader Sunny Parihar. He said that taking of exams of students of J&K on basis of Online Classes is injustice with students.
He added, J&K is under digital lockdown for last 10 months, on 2G online classes conducted by universities and colleges are mere formality or nothing. Therefore, there should be cancellation of all examination and students must be promoted unlike IIT Kanpur, Bombay, and Kashmir University. While addressing the media, Ajay Lakhotra NSUI activist from university of Jammu said that Internet is biggest problem but there is also a fear of Pandemic Outbreak. He added many students belong to Kashmir, Poonch, Doda and even many students belong to other States also, So there will be danger of COVID-19.
He said that cases are increasing day by day and colleges and universities are interested in taking off exams without any care of students. He further said that they have launched a signature campaign in university of Jammu, in which more than 1100+ students of different departments participated and send their signature in favor mass promotion. This is demand of common student and I hope university is not going to curb this voice.
NSUI activist, Sheel Kumar further added that we have sent many number of memorandums to the University of Jammu regarding our demands and grievances but no reply from the administration of JU.
He said students are main stake holders and their opinion must be taken by university because at the end of the day students have to face everything not administration. NSUI activist, Bobin Chaddha said that there is breach of equality in J&K. Kashmir university promoted its students, on the contrary Jammu University is keen to conduct examination. Same Chancellor, but different rule Why? He further added we the students of Jammu faced many some problems unlike Kashmiri students faced.
Divanshu Sharma, NSUI activist also highlighted very important issue of transportation. He asked whether Jammu administration is going to arrange transportation facility for students. He further added many students belong to far flung areas are living in deprivation due to lockdown. NSUI, J&K very clearly said that students of J&K are most deserving for Mass Promotion, Therefore all students must be promoted as soon as possible, so that Uncertainty among students come to an end.
