Covid-19 sampling begins at Jammu's Nehru Market

Subsequent to the meeting with Divisional Administration held yesterday, Traders Federation Ware House-Nehru Market with the help of the Health Department on Tuesday started the Covid-19 sampling in Ware House. In the meeting, Sh. Deepak Gupta, General Secretary of Federation appealed to the administration to expedite sanitisation and random covid sample collections from high foot fall markets like Ware House-Nehru Market Jammu.
On his request, a medical team of the Health Department on Tuesday reached the warehouse and took the samples of around 50 people including traders, workers and labourers of this wholesale mandi. According to Sh. Deepak Gupta, administration assured the federation that the camp will continue for another two-three days to cover the all traders and workers.
Gupta said that a large number of truck drivers and conductors from neighboring states are also coming to the market daily. Although these drivers and conductors are not allowed inside the mandi and every precaution is being taken but still the risk is very high. We took this matter with the administration yesterday and thankful to Divisional Commissioner Sh. Sanjeev Verma and Deputy Commissioner Ms. Sushma Chouhan, who listened to us and took immediate steps to take Covid-19 sampling in Mandi, he said.
