Safai Karamcharis raise demands, hold protest

Seeking that their salaries be paid to them on the first day of every month and benefits under ESIC be provided to them, the safai karamcharis working with Jammu Municipal Corporation (JKMC) staged a protest in Jammu on Thursday.
The protesting workers led by the activists of Civic Safai Karmachari Union enlisted their demads which included, �Safaikaramcharis working on Permanent, Casual Basis, and NGO should get salaries on 1st of every month; Safaikaramcharis working on Permanent and Casual basis should also get the benefit of ESIC medical scheme as is given to NGO workers; Safaikaramcharis working on Casual Basis and NGO should get their salaries according to the rules of Union Territory; revocation of the the removal of three NGO Safaikaramcharis from their respective job who they said were only raising their voice for genuine demands for getting salaries at time and reinstating of the NGO worker removed from the job on the ground of overstaffing .
