Youth Congress protests against delay in recruitment of NIS coaches

JAMMU, July 15:

Pradesh Youth Congress, Sports Cell, J&K, on Wednesday staged protest against the J&K Sports Council for unnecessarily delaying the recruitment of NIS Qualified Coaches.
Led by Ranjodh Singh, Chairman Sports Cell JKPYC, the activists assembled near Press Club and raised slogans against the authorities of J&K Sports Council. The protest was held on the directions of Uday Bhanu Chib, President J&K Pradesh Youth Congress.
Talking to reporters here, Singh criticized the J&K Sports Council authorities for playing with the future of J&K youth who are already facing step motherly treatment due to the hollow policies of BJP led Government at the Centre.
Singh said that the Council had issued notification advertised vide notification no. DIP/K-NB/1270 dated 24.08.2016 for the post of Junior Coaches for which the interview was conducted in January 2017 but the result has been never declared.
Singh said the aspirants had moved to J&K High Court which directed the Council by passing an order dated 05.04.2019 to complete the process of selection within the period of four months from the stage of interview onwards and J&K Sports Council admitted before High Court that record of interview are lost and a application for FIR has been lodged in Crime Branch Jammu on dated 25.02.2019 for which no investigation has been initiated.
Singh said that on 24.08.2019 J&K Sports Council published a notification vide No SC/664-IV/2475-84 to conduct interview on 20.08.2019 at Srinagar on 31.07.2019 and 02.08.2019. Later on 30.07.2019, the Council had announced that interview was postponed due to preoccupation of Chairman of Interview Committee (i.e, Director Youth Services And Sports).
Singh anguished that till date no fresh date of interview has been announced and they have shown no intention to complete the selection process as directed by High Court.
The Youth Congress activists appealed to the Lt Governor to show his serious concern towards the genuine issues of youth of J&K who are facing acute hardships due to rising unemployment in J&K. They further appealed to the Lt Governor to kindly intervene in the matter and issue directions to the authorities concerned for the appointment of Jr. Coaches in the J&K Sports Council at the earliest.
