Sourav Ganguly might not want the Indian players to "sit in their hotel rooms for two weeks" when they land in Australia later this year, but it turns out he is unlikely to get his way. It was last week that the BCCI president had spoken about Virat Kohli & Co hopefully having to quarantine for a shorter duration that mandated for everyone else if the Test tour does go ahead during the Australian summer. Cricket Australia's interim CEO, Nick Hockley, though clarified on Tuesday (July 21) that the "two-week quarantine" period was "well-defined" hinting that both the Indian and even the Australian cricketers, who might end up playing in the IPL if it happens, will have to enter a quarantine zone for 14 days once they enter the country. Hockley also revealed that it would be the CA's focus and responsibility however to make sure that the players aren't just cooped up in their rooms but are allowed to train while quarantining.

"The key thing for the players is that there's regular testing and that we appropriately quarantine them when they come in. What we are working on is making sure that even within that quarantine environment, the players have got the absolute best training facilities, so that their preparation for the matches is as optimal as it can possibly be and that certainly we are working through the very same with the ECB (if Australia's white-ball tour to England goes ahead) as well at the moment," he said.
