Casual labour protest to seek regularization enter day-2

Jammu, 26-Aug-2020

On second day of three day protest of casual and daily wagers of agriculture department under the banner of J&K Agriculture workers & casual labor union for pressing their only demand of service regularization today more workers joined the protest venue at Krishi Bhawan Talab Tillo Jammu.
All department casual labour union President Mr. Tanveer Hussain also joined the protesting workers of Agriculture department and assured them of his full support and solidarity towards the resolution of long pending demand of their service regularization. The protesting workers also said that if their genuine demand of service regularization is not met with justice their families along with their children and old age dependent parents will come on road and join them in their protests. Their families are in terrible and miserable living conditions now due to malnutrition and non availability of proper diet, proper education and medical facilities. They can�t afford even two time meals for their children and dependent family members out of the meager monthly wages of Rs. 6750/-. They were simply saying that they are now in a do or die situation for this cause.
The protesters lead by JKAWCLU President Mr. Devinder Singh Bittu, vice president Sh. Gyan Chand, General secretary Sh. Tilak Raj today handed over one memorandum with a single point demand of their regularization to Sh. Inder Jeet (KAS) Director Agriculture Jammu. Director Agriculture Jammu also expressed his sympathies to the protesting casual workers and said that they are the frontline soldiers of Agriculture department and their only demand of getting regularized in their services after working for more than two decades is genuine and shall be strongly recommended to the competent authority.
The protesting workers requested LG Manoj Sinha ji, chief secretary BVR Subramaniam ji and Principal secretary APD Mr. Navin K Choudhary to realize their only demand of service regularization.
