Civil Services preliminary exams to be conducted on Oct 4, students asked to download e-admit cards

New Delhi: After the NEET and JEE exams which are being conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA) amidst the COVID-19 pandemic, the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) will conduct the Civil Services (Preliminary) Examination, 2020 across the country on October 4 and UPSC has asked candidates to download their e-admit cards from the UPSC Website.
Around 10 lakh candidates apply for this examination every year. In a set of instructions, the UPSC has said that wearing of mask or face cover will be mandatory for all candidates, and candidates without a mask or face cover will not be allowed entry into the examination venue. �Candidates, however, will have to remove their masks for verification, whenever required by the Examination functionaries. A candidate may carry his or her own hand sanitizer in a transparent bottle and follow COVID-19 norms of �social distancing� as well as �personal hygiene� inside the examination halls/rooms as well as in the premises of the venue,� UPSC has said in a set of instructions.
Candidates have been told to bring the print out of the e-Admit card along with the original photo Identity card to secure admission to Examination Hall. �E-Admit card must be preserved until the declaration of the final results of the Civil Services Examination, 2020. You are responsible for the safe custody of the e-Admit card and in the event of any other person using this e-Admit card, the onus lies on you to prove that you have not used the service of any impersonator,� the UPSC has said.
