Jammu, 13-Sept-2020

As the number of COVID-19 cases are swelling day by day, the hospitals are getting occupied and now, its need of the hour to immediately construct temporary COVID-19 hospitals on war footings this was stated by Puneet Singh Jamwal Chairman Civil Society for Development of Jammu and Kashmir.
Puneet Jamwal said that Jammu and Kashmir Union Territory has been witnessing a sharp rise in COVID-19 deaths, and with this number of hospitals are already saturated as they are already filled with corona patients. It is therefore required to construct temporary hospitals with immediate effects to save the precious life of our people.
He said that, the UT administration have not assessed the situation even after it was declared as pandemic and it could have learned a lot from worst COVID-19 hit cities like Italy where most of the hospitals has refused to take elderly patients and let them die at their homes.
Jamwal said as hypoxia is one of the major symptoms of COVID-19, where patient develop short breath and for that patient needs immediate oxygen therapy to maintain oxygen levels, due to heavy load on the hospitals, markets and shops providing oxygen cylinders, oxygen cylinders are missing and people are being forced to buy oxygen concentrators worth thousands.
Puneet Singh Jamwal said that if theses temporary hospitals were not set up immediately then time will come when there is complete saturation of all hospitals and there will be total chaos in medical system and people have nowhere to go to save them from this lethal respiratory disease and more over COVID-19 is not going to eradicate in a week or month time so we need temporary hospital for this disease.
Puneet Singh Jamwal urged U.T. administration to set up these hospitals with additional medical staff, nursing staff and oxygen supply to conquer this disease and put mortality rate at halt.
