Orange alert issued in parts of Telangana amid very heavy rains prediction

The flood situation has remained grim in Telangana and Karnataka due to the overnight heavy rains that battered some parts of the states on Saturday night, leaving a trail of destruction. According to an IBF advisory, a Yellow alert has been issued as heavy rains are very likely to occur at isolated places in Telangana districts. Thunderstorm accompanied with lightning is also very likely to occur at isolated places over Telangana. An Orange alert (be prepared) has also been issued for Hyderabad and heavy rains have been predicted in Chennai city of Tamil Nadu. Due to the incessant pour since Saturday, Army was pressed into service in four affected districts in Karnataka. In Hyderabad, a total of 50 people have lost their lives in rain related incidents.
