Maharashtra govt announces Rs 10,000 crore relief package for rain-affected areas

Maharashtra government on Friday announced a relief package of Rs 10,000 crore for the rain-affected parts of the state. The Chief Minister's Office (CMO) also confirmed that the amount will be disbursed before Diwali. Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray's announcement has come days after he took a review of the loss to crops, livestock, buildings in the areas which have been severely hit by rains.
