India have crossed the 300 run mark and are edging closer to draw the third Test match on Day 5, against Australia, at the Sydney Cricket Ground (SCG).

Ravichandran Ashwin and Hanuma Vihari are going strong for the visitors and are currently unbeaten.
Cheteshwar Pujara and Rishabh Pant looked set to help India stage a comeback, but lost their wickets before reaching their respective centuries.

Pujara scored 77 runs before losing his wicket to Josh Hazlewood. Pant lost his wicket after scoring 97 runs.
Day 5 began with Nathan Lyon notching the dismissal of Ajinkya Rahane, who could only muster four runs. The Pink Test has been marred by bad behavior from the Sydney crowd.

A day after Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammed Siraj complained of racial abuse towards them, a group of six spectators were ejected from the Sydney Cricket Ground after Siraj complained of abuse. The incident occurred yesterday. The series is currently level at 1-1.
