Yet another Italian town that has come up with a lucrative offer of �1 home scheme, the Sicilian town of Triona. The very alluring �1 home scheme in Italy is still going strong, as more and more villages are coming forward with such schemes.

If you have been previously tempted by such an offer, this move by this Sicilian town to offer homes for just one euro might just convince you to take the offer this time. What is more interesting about the scheme is that the local government will help you financially to renovate your �1 home.

Troina is making all the efforts to make your attempt of renovating your house a little less costly. Reportedly, the local government will help prospective buyers with renovation costs once they settle in the village.

Over the past few decades, the area has been declining as many locals moved out of the town or moved to more modern houses around Troina.

Referring to the new scheme, Mayor Sebastiano Fabio Venezia stated that the council could likely offer payments of up to �25000 (�10000 for energy efficiency work and �15000 for renovation) to help new buyers with the project. Further, new residents won't have to pay city service and property taxes for three years.

He further added that his intention was to save the old district from grave and recover its lost grandeur, when it was the Norman capital of Sicily. He added that he is attempting to revive the village�s fortune by attracting new residents and restoring it to its former glory.
