Maharashtra government has stepped-up the vigil in its fight against COVID-19. The state government has added Kerala to the list of states from which incoming passengers will have to take an RT-PCR test before entering Maharashtra. The other states on the list are Gujarat, Goa, Delhi, Rajasthan. The Airport Authority of India will have to check for reports of passengers before allowing them to board the flights from Kerala and other states listed before. State executive committee, hereby issues orders to extend the SOP issued order to all the passengers arriving in Maharashtra from the state of Kerala with immediate effect, after careful consideration of planning of containment areas and availability of health infrastructure for the strict implementation by the concerned authorities of all the departments in the state of Maharashtra, a GR issued by the state government read. According to reports, passengers arriving via trains will have to carry RT-PCR negative test report obtained 96 hours prior to their departure from the states, the government said. Maharashtra has been one of the worst COVID-19-affected states in the country. Till about last week, the state, along with Kerala, contributed to 90 per cent of the caseload in India, the Health Ministry had said.
