Nation standing with them: BJP backs Amitabh, Akshay after Maha Congress threatens to stop films shooting

Maharashtra Congress chief Nana Patole has threatened to stop the shooting of films of popular Bollywood actors like Amitabh Bachchan and Akshay Kumar in the state. Speaking to reporters, Maharashtra Pradesh Congress Committee president said these actors used to tweet against the previous UPA regime when fuel prices used to be hiked but are silent when the price of petrol has touched Rs 100 in the country. You would have seen when Manmohan Singh jis government was there at the Centre, whether it was Amitabh Bachchan or Akshay Kumar, they used to tweet about high petrol prices. Now today, when international crude prices are low but the Narendra Modi-led BJP government is increasing the prices of petrol, diesel and LPG, why are they not speaking out today. The UPA government functioned democratically, hence they could criticise it," Patole said. If they do not speak out in favour of the people and justice, then the Maharashtra Congress will not allow their films to be shot in the state, he further said. Reacting to the Congress threat, Maharashtra BJP MLA Ram Kadam has assured full support to the two Bollywood actors. Kadam said the nation is standing with Amitabh and Akshay who have tweeted in favour of the country. Congress leaders are threatening the actors, saying they will not allow their films to be shot or released in Maharashtra. What crime has Amitabh Bachchan committed? He has only tweeted in favour of the country, Kadam said. Some people sitting outside the country are conspiring against India and trying to dent its image. And the Congress party is supporting such people who are against India, the BJP leader said, referring to the support being voiced by some foreign personalities in favour of the ongoing farmers' agitation. The Centre has said in the Supreme Court that pro-Khalistani elements have infiltrated the farmers protest and pose a threat to national security. It may be recalled here that the BJP is in opposition in Maharashtra where the Maha Vikas Aghadi government is in power. The MVA comprises the Shiv Sena, the Congress and the Nationalist Congress Party.
