Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal provided financial assistance of Rs one crore each to families of COVID-19 warriors Late Raj Kumar and Late Om Pal Singh. While Kumar was posted as a security guard at Rajiv Gandhi Super Specialty Hospital in Tahirpur, Singh was posted as a principal at Govt Boys Sr Sec School in Kalyanpuri. "Our Corona warriors have served people by playing on their lives. Security guard Raj Kumar ji and school principal Ompal ji also died due to corona infection. Today met both families, handed over a check for 1-1 crore. Will stand with families in future also," Kejriwal said in a Twitter post. Meanwhile, in good news, no fresh COVID-19 death was recorded in Delhi in the last 24 hours. New 134 cases took the cumulative count of people infected with the virus to 6,37,315, according to the government officials on Wednesday. The total recoveries increased to 6,25,343 as around 75 patients recovered in the last 24 hours. Additional Chief Secretary (services)/Nodal Officer (COVID-19) held a meeting of all District Magistrates, Chief District Medical Officers and District Surveillance Officers on COVID-19 management, news agency ANI reported.

Delhi govt disburses Rs 3.18 cr to 488 construction workers

The Delhi government also disbursed Rs 3.18 crore to 488 construction workers under various welfare schemes. Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia handed over the cheques to the beneficiaries at an event held at the Delhi Secretariat here. "It is the duty of a government to provide support to those in need. Delhi government is committed to streamline claim disbursal for the workers," Sisodia said. "Every construction worker of Delhi should have the confidence that my government stands with them in the times of need. People of Delhi should have that level of trust in the government," he added.
