This is the first time in the history of Jammu and Kashmir that so many JKPS officers have been appointed to the IPS simultaneously.

The decision was reportedly taken during an important meeting in New Delhi attended by representatives from the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA), the Secretary-General, and the Director General of Police (DGP).

Initially, 32 of his JKPS officers from the 1999 group were assigned to new appointments, but one post was reserved for RK Bhat in his SSP, who missed the appointment at the last meeting due to an ongoing investigation. As a result, 31 officers passed the selection process and are now officially part of his IPS.

Newcomers include Maksoud-ul-Zaman, Mubasil Latifi Amer, Shiv Kumar Sharma, Suhail Munawar Mir, Rashmi Wazir, Rajeshwar Singh, Sandeep Wazir, Anita Sharma, Samir Lekhi, Jatinder Singh Johar and other members of the 1999 group.
