Suryakumar Yadav was back at his best as India stayed alive in the series with a seven-wicket win over West Indies.
West Indies skipper Rovman Powell's whirlwind 40 not out from 19 balls pushed the hosts to 159/5 when Kuldeep Yadav (3/28) was stopped in the middle overs.
Debutant Yashasvi Jaiswal (1) and Shubman Gill (6) succeeded cheaply in the run chase before Suryakumar came up with a special 83 from 44 balls to help India chase down the target in 17.5 overs.
Tilak Varma (49 not out of 37) was happy to play second fiddle to his senior Mumbai Indians teammates in their 87-run series. Varma fell short of his second consecutive 50 on debut when skipper Hardik Pandya (20 not out from 15) hit a match-winning six. West Indies lead the five-match series 2-1 when the next game is played in Lauderhill, Florida on Saturday.
Suryakumar, who has had a quiet tour so far, swept his first ball to the boundary. Suryakumar is almost impossible to stop when he finds openings at will and that is what the West Indies had to endure today.
His innings consisted of 10 fours and four sixes, the highlight of which was a perfect straight hit over the head of paceman Obed McCoy.

Brief score: West Indies: 159/5 20 overs (King 42, Powell 40*; Kuldeep 3/28); India: 164/3 in 17.5 overs (Suryakumar 83; Joseph 2/25).
