RJD president Lalu Prasad on Friday accused Prime Minister Narendra Modi of creating a "corrupt social and political culture" which was reflected in the behavior of BJP MPs.
The former chief minister of Bihar, who was also a member of Manmohan Singh's cabinet, issued a statement in Hindi on social media.
"The prime minister has given birth to a corrupt (vikrit) social and political culture where one of his MPs is praising a terrorist who murdered the father of the nation, Gandhi ji," he wrote without naming him.
The reference was apparently to Bhopal MP Pragya Thakur, who called Nathu Ram Godse a "patriot" but later backtracked amid mounting public criticism.

Prasad, who is a key figure in the opposition INDIA coalition, alleged that “a BJP MP (apparently) made inappropriate, petty and unparliamentary remarks against an opposition MP at the behest of the Prime Minister. This is regrettable, regrettable, and worrying for society and democracy. Indeed it is not Amrit Kaal but Vish Kaal (Age of Poison)”.
While the veteran politician again did not name names, it was an apparent reference to the Rajya Sabha speech of BJP MP Ramesh Bidhuri, whose religious tirade against BSP MP Dan Ali was disapproved.
