National Award winner Alia Bhatt has been roped in to star in and produce the Vasan Bala-directed film 'Jigra', the makers announced on Tuesday.
Backed by Dharma Productions and Eternal Sunshine Productions, the film will hit the screens on September 27, 2024.
Karan Johar's Dharma Productions shared the film on its official X page.

"Jigra" is Bhatt's second production venture through Eternal Sunshine Productions after 2022's "Darlings" which was released on Netflix. He was last seen in Streamer's Hollywood debut, Heart of Stone.
From debuting in the 2012 film Student of the Year by Dharma Productions to now producing a film with the studio, Bhatt said that his life has come full circle.
"Every day is different ... exciting, challenging (and a little scary) ... not only as an actor but also as a producer as we bring this film to life and I can't wait to share more in the future. JIGRA - in theaters 27.09.2024", he wrote on social networks.
Bala, who is known as 'Monica, O My Darling' and 'Mard Ko Dard Nahin Hota', wrote a description of the film on his official Instagram account. "He made a promise and he will fulfill it ... whatever the obstacle ... whatever the cost ... # Jigra ", wrote the filmmaker.
Johar, Apoorva Mehta, Bhatt, and Somen Mishra are mentioned as producers for the upcoming project.
