The Indian wicketkeeper-batsman KL Rahul has acknowledged that he found the constant criticism he received to be upsetting and perplexing, particularly given that his performance wasn't all that poor.

Rahul, who missed many months of play owing to a thigh injury he suffered in the IPL in May, made his comeback last month at the Asia Cup, when he finished as the team's third-highest run-scorer.

"I received a lot of feedback; people commented on my performance in every game and circumstance. Due to the fact that my performance wasn't all that poor, I was unable to comprehend why it was happening. That was therefore incredibly painful. said Rahul.

Rahul scored 169 runs in three innings after missing the first two games of the Asia Cup owing to a niggle.
