The two-day special session of the Punjab Vidhan Sabha began here on Friday.
It started with obituaries. Agniveer Amritpal Singh was felicitated by the assembly.
The assembly became high-tech, tablets were installed on all members' benches and in the press gallery. Spokesperson Kultar Sandhwan said the assembly went paperless with that. Leader of Opposition Partap Bajwa raised the issue that the governor had called the session illegal. He wondered why such a huge amount was wasted in a sit-in that the governor called illegal.
The president said the session was legal. He said he did not receive any message from the governor and could only act after receiving a message from the governor.
Finance Minister Harpal Cheema said the Speaker declared the session legal. He said that the Congress ran away from discussing the SYL issue.
